Wan Pendant Light

Wan's smoked glass dome does not simply diffuse light — it tints it. The warm glow of an E27 filament bulb, seen through the grey-tinted glass, takes on an amber quality that shifts the feeling of a room toward something quieter and more considered. It is the difference between light that illuminates and light that settles.

The matte black iron frame sits around the glass dome without concealing it — a visible structure that references the industrial fittings of warehouses and workshops, where materials were chosen for strength rather than decoration. In a contemporary interior of pale plaster and bare wood, this honesty of construction reads as a deliberate contrast: something that has weight and history where everything else is light and new.

Most pendant fittings treat the suspension as an afterthought — a cable to be minimised or hidden. Wan hangs on a chain that is visible and intentional, adjustable to any height up to 120 cm. Hung lower above a small dining table, it creates an intimate circle of light. Raised higher in a loft or open-plan kitchen, the chain and dome become part of the room's composition rather than just its lighting.

At 31 cm across, Wan is sized for rooms of 5 to 10 square metres — a kitchen above a small island, a dining corner, a study or hallway. The E27 fitting accepts a wide range of bulbs, so the character of the light is shaped by the bulb you choose. Bulb not included — which means the first decision is yours to make.
