Eda Ceiling Light

Most ceiling lights exist to be ignored — functional, flat, forgettable. Eda is designed to be noticed. Its metal arms extend from a central body in an irregular, branching arrangement, each joined with a solid wood ball that introduces a natural warmth into what would otherwise be a purely industrial composition. Switched off, it is already worth looking at.

The wooden ball joints at each arm connection are not decorative detail — they are the point where the organic meets the constructed, where the warmth of a natural material interrupts the precision of painted iron. This tension is central to Japandi design: two contrasting sensibilities held in the same object, neither dominating the other.

Each arm ends in a round acrylic disc that diffuses the integrated LED evenly downward — soft, broad and free of glare. With four or five heads arranged across the ceiling, Eda distributes light across a 5–10 square metre room without the harshness of a single central source. The discs glow rather than shine; the room fills rather than is illuminated.

Four body colours — black, white, grey and green — each changes the character of the fitting and the room it inhabits. The green variant reads as botanical against a pale wall, echoing the wooden joints. The black version turns industrial and graphic. White disappears into a bright ceiling; grey sits quietly between the two. Whichever is chosen, the light colour adjusts independently: warm, cool or switchable from the wall.
